Description
8 Bridge Street is a group of three-storey buildings featuring simple classical fronts. Nos 7 to 9 have a cement render finish, while Bradford House has a scribed render. The buildings are topped with a hipped slate roof and have a mix of chimney stacks: two in cement render, one in brick, and one in rubble. Nos 7 and 8 present a three-window façade on the left, while No 9 has three windows, and Bradford House has one window. Most windows are 12-pane sash types, set back with voussoir lintels and keystones, and there is a band course between the storeys on Nos 7 and 8.
There is a modern shop front on the left, a 12-pane sash window on the ground floor to the left of No 9, and a later bay window to the right. Bradford House features a four-pane sash window on the first floor. The entrance to No 9 is arched and includes a five-pane fanlight above a later half-glazed door. Bradford House has a recessed modern door with a banded surround.
The right side of the building is canted with two windows and includes an additional storey just above water level. To the left, there is a low two-storey building that is not of special interest.
