Description

This is a 17th-century house with 18th and later additions, constructed from rubble and now covered by a modern pantile roof. The house has two storeys and two gables, with an attic in one gable. The attic window has two diamond-leaded fixed lights separated by a stone mullion. On the first floor are three windows: a two-light casement and a three-light casement, both with stone mullions and dripmoulds, and a modern double-hung sash window without glazing bars. Flanking the central doorway are pairs of sash windows with glazing bars, wide stone mullions, and freestone dressings. The square-headed doorway has a plain freestone surround and a six-panelled door. Attached to the right is a two-storey, two-window section. The roof is stone-tiled, with tall stone chimneys at each end. Sash windows are arranged in pairs, maintaining their original glazing bars. The property is part of a group that includes numbers 9 to 12, 14 to 16, 19 to 23, the former Wesleyan Methodist Church, and associated wall and gates.
