2. The wall (approximately 6ft high) projects from between Nos 20 and 21 to a gatepier. A second similar gatepier stands opposite to the south. Both are of ashlar, having moulded entablatures with low pyramidal tops and plain bases. Between the piers are double wrought-iron gates incorporating a spear motif. This wall continues south and curves forward increasing in height to approximately 10ft. Coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and plain coping. The wall continues down Coppice Hill and forms an essential ingredient to the street. It finally rises to 15 to 18ft towards its south end. Directly opposite Nos 10, 11 and 12, set in the higher part of the wall is a large elliptical carriage-arch with keystone (blocked). The wall is abutted at its south end by No 22A.

Nos 9 to 12 (consec), Nos 14 to 16 (consec), Nos 19 to 23 (consec), Wesleyan Methodist Church, Former Wesleyan Methodist Church and wall and gates form a group.
