Description

The wall and gatepiers located between Nos 28 and 29 in the Cathedral Precincts are of historic significance. They feature reused medieval masonry, with a base made of diapered stone and flint, and brickwork above that includes some Georgian bricks along with modern bricks. The structure includes two restored brick gatepiers topped with two modern urns. This wall and gatepiers are part of a group that also includes Nos 20 to 29A, the Pilgrim's or Pentise entry attached to No 29, the wall in the garden of No 29, the Gateway from Green Court, and the adjoining building to the left, which is the King's School Library and Norman staircase.
