Description
The wall in the garden of No 29 is part of the ruins of Christchurch Abbey. This 12th-century wall is constructed of flint and ashlar and features two round-headed Norman arches. It was originally the east wall of the Cellarer's Hall. The wall is part of a group that includes Nos 20 to 29A, the Pilgrim's or Prentise entry attached to No 29, the wall and gatepiers between Nos 28 and 29, the gateway from Green Court, and the building adjoining to the left, which includes the King's School Library and a Norman staircase.
