Description
The gatepiers and wall at Nos 19 and 21 Woolley Street date from the early 19th century. They are made of ashlar and stand approximately 8 feet high. The gatepiers are square with entablatures and curved tops, featuring sunk panels on the sides and plain bases. There are plain wrought-iron gates leading to the Dower House. The right-hand pier is connected to a wall constructed of dressed freestone blocks with plain coping. This wall extends around the corner and continues up the hill along Woolley Street. Together, Nos 1 to 21 (odd) along with the gatepiers and walls at No 21 form a cohesive group.
