Description

The Dower House is an early 19th-century detached house built in a plain Regency style. It is constructed of cream-washed ashlar with a hipped slate roof and deeply projecting eaves. The house has two storeys and a slate-hung attic dormer. It features three windows, with sash windows in reveals and glazing bars. The central door is set within a semi-circular-headed opening with a fanlight, also with glazing bars, and is flanked by a panelled door. The central portion of the facade, containing the door and a window above, projects forward slightly. A plain string course runs along the first-floor level. A verandah with a "tent" canopy and ornamental wrought-iron supports covers the ground-floor windows and door. The house forms a group with numbers 1 to 21 (odd), along with the gate piers and walls at number 21.
