Description
Milestone dated 1750, made of limestone, measuring approximately 1 meter by 450 millimeters by 275 millimeters, with a wave-curve top. The south side features an incised inscription that reads 'XXII/MILES FROM/SARUM/ /FROM LONDON/1750'. This milestone is located in the middle of an abandoned track-way and is part of a series along the ridgeway. It is more worn than the other milestones in the series. It is also designated as an ancient monument, County No. 412.
