Description
This is a milestone located on a ridgeway track, dated 1750. It is made of limestone and measures approximately 750 mm by 450 mm by 275 mm, with a wave-curve top. The north face features an incised inscription that reads 'XX /MILES FROM/ SARUM / XCVIII/ FROM/ LONDON/ 1750.' The milestone is positioned to the south of the track and is about 10 metres away from a fence to the north. It is part of a series of milestones along a now abandoned route.
