Description

The stables and cart sheds at West Hill Farm date from around 1800. Constructed from rubble stone, the building features a double Roman tiled roof. The left side includes two-storey, four-bay open-fronted cart sheds with brick segmental arched openings. There is a segmental-headed doorway on the left, with stairs in the center leading to three segmental-headed doorways and five top-opening casements on the right. The first floor has four planked doors. It is possible that the stable section of the building was originally used for cows, as the ceiling heights are relatively low for horses.
