Description
The Cottage is a detached house dating from the late 17th century and 18th century. It features a rendered exterior and a thatched roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has a three-cell plan and is two storeys high with four windows across the front. A four-panelled door is located in a thatched porch to the left of centre, with a three-light casement window to the left and three additional three-light casements to the right. On the first floor, there are four three-light casements. The right side of the building has a single-light casement window on the first floor. At the rear, there are 19th-century lean-to extensions with tiled roofs, a half-glazed door leading to an outshut, a raking dormer with a two-light leaded casement on the left, and an eyebrow dormer with a three-light casement on the right. The interior was not accessible during the survey in September 1986, but it is reported to have chamfered beams and open fireplaces with lintels resting on stone jambs.
