Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a detached cottage located in Melbury Osmond, dating from the early 17th century and refenestrated in the 19th century. The building features rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof that is half-hipped at the left end and gabled at the right end. It has rebuilt brick stacks at the ridge, adjacent to the passage, and at the right gable. The cottage is two storeys high and has four windows, which are two-light iron casements with lead lights, wood lintels, and cills. The front door is positioned at the right center and is a flush-panelled design with two top lights, framed in wood and dating from the 19th century. The door is adorned with stone voussoirs.
