Description
Cheney House is an attached former Post Office and Store, now a private dwelling, dating from the early 19th century. The building features dressed stone walls with rusticated stone quoins and a slate roof with gable ends. It has brick stacks located on the ridge to the left of center and at the right-hand gable. The structure is two storeys high and has three windows, which are 19th-century sashes with thin glazing bars and crown glass. The windows are adorned with flat stone architraves and stone cills. There is a blocking of a former shop front on the left side of the front elevation. The front door, positioned to the right of center, has recessed panels and one top-light, also from the 19th century. It is framed by a stone architrave and a stone canopy supported on moulded stone brackets.
