Description

MELBURY OSMOND MELBURY OSMOND ST 5707 VILLAGE Sterndale Cottage 8/97 11.11.66 II GV Detached cottage. Early C17, with possibly earlier core. Rubble-stone walls and quoins. Thatch roof, hipped at left hand and gabled at right hand. Early C20 brick stacks on ridge centre, and at right hand gable. C20 stack on rear eaves. 1 1/2 storeys. Two windows ground floor has 3-light wood casements with glazing-bars; first floor has 2-light cast iron casements with glazing-bars. Plank door, right of centre, C20. (RCHM. Dorset I, p.160(5))
