Description
Bridge Farm Cottage is an attached cottage located in Melbury Osmond, dating from the mid-18th century or earlier, with some alterations from the 19th century. The cottage features rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof, which is gabled at the right-hand end. There are early 20th-century brick stacks at both gable ends. The building is one and a half storeys tall, with four windows, primarily consisting of two-lights, and three lights at the left ground level. The windows have wooden casements with lead lights, dating from the 20th century, while the first floor features iron casements with lead lights. The entrance is located at the rear and consists of a 19th-century plank door, sheltered by a weather-boarded porch. At the south end, there is a thatched outshut with brick walls, which is one storey high and has a plank door. Inside, the left-hand room boasts 16th-century moulded and compartmented ceiling beams.
