Description
Common Hill Cottage is a detached house dating from the 18th century, with extensions added to the east in the 19th century and later. The cottage features rubble stone walls that are colourwashed, and it has a tiled roof with a parapet on the west gable. There are brick stacks at both ends and one in the center. The building is two storeys high and has a brick porch with a gabled roof topped by a terra cotta finial, leading to a ledged door. There is a second door in the later eastern section. On the ground floor, there are three horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor has two similar windows. A lean-to extension is located on the west side, featuring a hipped roof. To the east, there is a large modern extension made of brick, also with a tiled roof.
