Description
No. 37 East Lulworth is a small detached cottage, probably from the 18th century. The walls are made of a mix of rubble stone and plastered cob, topped with a thatched roof. There is an end stack that has been recently rebuilt using concrete blocks. The cottage has one storey and an attic. At the south-west end, there is a modern lean-to porch that was under construction at the time of the survey. The north wall is buttressed, and the original doorway in this wall has been partially blocked to accommodate a window. On the ground floor, there are two horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars, and the attic features one dormer with a similar sash window. The main room on the ground floor includes a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and an exposed ceiling beam. The cottage was under repair at the time of the survey.
