Description

The Cottage is a detached house built in the early 19th century, with an extension added to the north in the early 20th century. The original structure features rubble-stone walls that are rendered and painted, while the extension has brick walls. The house has slate roofs, with a hipped roof on the left side and a gabled roof on the right. There are brick stacks at the apex of the left hip and the right gable, both dating from the 20th century. The building is two storeys high and has three windows, which are two-light wooden casements with glazing bars and wooden sills, although these have been renewed in the 20th century. The front door, located at the centre of the 19th-century part, has two recessed panels and four glazed lights, with recessed-panel reveals and a wooden architrave. A wooden canopy supported by moulded wooden brackets is above the door. Additionally, there is a canted key window at the east end of the extension.
