Description

No. 1 Dorchester Road is a small roadside cottage dating from the 19th century or earlier. It features cob walls that are rendered and a thatched roof that is hipped at both ends. There is a brick stack located in the southeast corner of the cottage. The front of the building is one storey high, while the rear rises to one and a half storeys. The front window consists of a two-light wooden casement with glazing bars. At the rear, there is a two-light eyebrow dormer window. The entrance is located on the right-hand side and consists of a 19th-century plank door that leads into a hall-corridor. Attached to the cottage is an outbuilding made from the same materials, which is single storey and features a stable-type door along with a casement window with glazing bars beside it.
