Description
Rose and Ivy Cottage is a detached corner cottage dating from the 18th century. It features walls made of flint rubble and stone, which are banded, with squared stone quoins. The roof is thatched with gable ends, and there is a brick stack on the left-hand gable. The cottage has two storeys and includes two windows on the upper floor, which are two-light wooden casements with glazing bars, and a three-light window on the right side of the ground floor. The ground floor windows are topped with segmental brick arches. To the left of the centre, there is a plank door with weatherboarding from the 19th century, framed by brick jambs and a segmental brick arch above. There is also a rear range that is at right angles to the main structure, made of rubble stone, with a thatched roof and a brick stack at the ridge in the centre. This rear range has a two-light wooden casement with glazing bars and a wooden lintel above.
