Description

This detached farmhouse comprises an 18th-century rear range facing the lane, an early 19th-century front block at a right angle, and a late 19th-century extension in the rear angle. The rear range is constructed of banded knapped flint and chalk block with stone quoins. The front block's exterior is stuccoed and painted cream, with brick quoins and dressings. The late 19th-century extension is brick-built. The rear and front ranges have thatched hips, while the extension has a slate roof. The farmhouse has brick chimneys at the south hip apex of the front block, in the valley between the front block and rear range, and on the north end wall of the extension; all are 19th-century. A more recent ridge stack is present on the rear range.

The west-facing (early 19th-century) front has two storeys and three windows. These windows are sash windows with 12 panes of glass, stone sills, and crown glass in the lower windows. A front door is positioned centrally, featuring a six-rib-panel door, a fanlight with irregularly-spaced glazing-bars, and a moulded wooden frame. Sashes on the north wall of this block are dressed with brick and feature segmental brick arches above.

The rear range, facing the lane, also has two storeys and three windows, with 3-light wooden casements and sills. One window on the left-hand side is a 3-light iron casement with leaded lights. A 20th-century flush-panelled door with two upper lights is located to the left of centre. A main doorway in the rear angle, beneath a pentice-roof extension, is a 19th-century flush-panelled door with two upper lights.
