Description
Higher Wrackleford Cottages is a row of four cottages dating from the early to mid-18th century, with some later brickwork. The cottages have rubble-stone walls that are rendered, with brick walling at the upper right. They feature a thatch roof that is half-hipped at both ends. There are three brick stacks located at the party walls on the ridge, which date from the 19th century and have been renewed in the 20th century. The cottages are 1½ storeys high and have five windows on the ground floor, along with ten eyebrow dormers above. The windows are 2-light wooden casements with glazing bars, with some renewals from the 19th and 20th centuries, and they have wooden lintels and cills. The front doors are plank style with wooden framing, and there are plank wooden porches for cottages 1 and 2. Outhouses at the right-hand gable end are not of special interest.
