Description
The Corner House is a two-storey building dating from 1625, located on the southeast side of Half Moon Street. It features a colourwashed front in an early 19th-century style with three windows and a slate gabled roof. The building has a stone plinth and includes a later double-fronted shop. At the west end, facing Westbury, there is a medieval chamfered stone arch with a pointed head. Attached to the south end of the west return is a low one-storey outbuilding, which has a plaintile gabled roof and a stone rubble front with one small window located below the eaves. The Corner House, along with the premises occupied by Sherborne Supermarket, The Plume of Feathers Hotel, and The House of Steps, forms a group with the premises occupied by C B Brett and Sons on Digby Road.
