Description
1 St Margaret's Hill is a building likely dating from the 17th century. It has two storeys and is constructed of rubble with two asymmetrically placed gables and pantiled roofs. The gable towards the middle features wooden bargeboards and one large sash window with wooden moulded reveals, retaining its glazing bars. There are two small windows on the first floor and one window with a wooden surround in the gable to the east. The ground floor has a variety of windows, including two with square-headed stone dripmoulds, one of which is a mullioned three-light window. There is also a modern glazed door and paired garage doors.
1 St Margaret's Hill is part of a group that includes the Baptist Chapel, the Liberal Club, the Congregational Church and Hall, and Nos 6 to 16 (consecutive), 19 to 22 (consecutive), 36, and 42 to 49 (consecutive), as well as Westbury House on St Margarets Street, the Three Horse Shoes, and Nos 1 to 4 (consecutive) on Frome Road.
