Description
The Digby Estate, located on Trendle Street, features a traditional two-storey stone cottage, possibly dating back to its early core around 1625. The cottage has a slate roof and shares the same span as the adjacent premises in Westbury occupied by A and W Prout. It has a two-window front, with two-light windows that have small panes above. The windows below, from left to right, include a three-pane wide and four-pane deep window, a six-flush panelled door framed with an entablature above, and a two-light casement with a lintel to the right. The cottage, along with Digby Estate No 169, Trendle Cottage, the front garden wall, an outhouse range adjoining Trendle Cottage on the east side, and the premises occupied by E Brake and R W Hyde, form a cohesive group with the adjacent premises occupied by A and W Prout and Nos 4 and 6 in Westbury.
