Description
No 13, Mr T Shirt and Cornish Kitchen is a building located on the south side of The Strand in Padstow. It likely originated as net lofts or stores and was converted into two shops in the late 20th century. The building has its roots in the 18th century or early 19th century and was remodeled in the late 20th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with a hipped end on the left.
The building has an overall rectangular plan with shops on both the ground and first floors. It is two stories tall and has an asymmetrical two-window front, with late 20th-century windows set in probably earlier openings. The ground floor has a wide window, and there are two casements above it. The left-hand side elevation also features late 20th-century windows on both floors.
Inside, the building was remodeled in the 20th century, but some 19th-century carpentry details remain. This property is part of a group that includes Drang House, The Buttery, and converted warehouses on South Quay.
