Description
Drang House and The Buttery is likely a former store or warehouse that has been converted into a shop with living space above. It probably dates from the early 19th century. The building features stone rubble and timber framing, with some areas hung with slate. It has a rag slate roof with gable ends.
The plan of the building has been significantly altered, as it was likely part of a larger store or warehouse that extended to the northeast. It was converted into a shop with accommodation above around the mid-20th century.
The exterior consists of three storeys with a regular two-window front, slate hung above the ground floor. There is a 19th-century panelled door on the left and a 20th-century shop window on the right. The first floor has two hornless 19th-century 12-pane sash windows, while the second floor features two 4-pane sash windows.
The interior of the ground floor was remodeled in the late 20th century.
