Description
No. 8, Fish and Chips, is a shop with accommodation above, likely built in the early 19th century. It features stone rubble and painted slate hung softwood timber framing, topped with a slate roof and a brick end stack on the right. The ground plan includes a shop with a 19th-century shop front and a first floor used for accommodation, which is heated by the end stack.
The building is two stories high with a regular single window front. The ground floor has a 19th-century shop front with 20th-century glazed doors, while the first floor features a 19th-century four-pane sash window. The first floor is hung with painted local rag slates, and the left-hand side wall is also slate hung. The interior has not been inspected.
