Description
HONEYCOMB is a warehouse that has been converted into shops with accommodation above, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features a stone rubble base with brick above, and the ground and first floors are painted. The roof is made of asbestos slate with gable ends and brick end stacks.
The building occupies a corner site on the southwest side of the harbour and was previously used by Bray and Parken Ltd. It was converted to shops on the ground floor with accommodation above in the early to mid-20th century. The ground rises to the rear, resulting in a four-storey elevation at the front and a three-storey elevation at the rear, facing Strand Street.
The exterior is four storeys high with a regular three-window front. The ground rises on the left and to the rear. There are 20th-century shop fronts on the ground floor, with a segmental arched opening to the left. The first, second, and third floors have three probably 20th-century two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected.
