Description
The Coffee Shop is a shop with accommodation above, dating from around the 1840s to the 1860s. The front is rendered and stuccoed, likely featuring a soft-wood timber framed front wall. It has a slate roof with gable ends and a brick stack on the left side. The building has a particularly deep and narrow plan, with the shop located in the front room. It may have earlier origins and could have been refronted in the mid-19th century.
The exterior consists of three storeys with a regular three-window front. The ground floor was remodelled in the late 20th century, with a rebuilt shop front. The first and second floors each have three original 19th-century four-pane sash windows set in round arched openings. The interior, which includes the shop in the front room, was also remodelled in the late 20th century.
