Saunders Footwear Limited

Saunders Footwear Limited is a shop with accommodation at the rear and above, likely built in the late 18th century and extended in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of stone rubble with a stuccoed timber frame on the facade and has an asbestos slate roof, featuring a gable end on the left and a hipped end on the right. There is a truncated projecting stone rubble end stack on the left side, and a parallel range extends to the rear with a hipped end on the right.

The building has a double depth plan; the original structure was probably a single depth two-room plan before being extended to the rear around the mid-19th century. The shop front dates from the late 19th century and is asymmetrical with two windows on the front. The left side features a late 19th-century shop front with a central entrance and six rectangular window panes on either side, adorned with lambs tongue glazing bars. There is a 20th-century door, and to the left, there is an entrance to the accommodation above, also with a 20th-century door. On the first floor, there are two late 19th-century or early 20th-century four-pane sash windows, and the facade is enhanced by incised corner pilasters. The interior of the shop was remodeled in the 20th century.
