Description
Caroline's Weens and Teens Ltd and C H Paul and Son is a building that consists of two shops with accommodation above. It was probably remodeled in the 18th century and altered in the early 19th century, featuring two late 19th-century shop fronts. The exterior is finished in stucco, rendered, and painted stone rubble, topped with a slate and asbestos slate roof with gable ends.
The building has a single depth plan with two equally sized 19th-century shops on the ground floor. There are 20th-century extensions at the rear. The exterior is two storeys high with a regular three-window front. The shop on the left (No. 31) has a 20th-century door to the right of the center, with two large panes in a small bay to the left and a single-pane window to the right. The shop on the right (No. 33) features a roughly central entrance with a 20th-century door, flanked by two shallow window bays on either side, which have lambs tongue glazing bars. On the first floor, there are two late 19th-century four-pane sash windows beside a narrower central sash window. Above, a parapet with a moulded cornice includes three blind rectangular panels. The interior was remodeled in the 20th century.
