Description

SW 83 SW MYLOR TREWSIS ROAD, (east side), Flushing 6/277 Nos 7, 8 and 9 (W. Butland Family 30.5.67 Butcher)

Shops with accommodation over, in terrace. Circa mid C19. Stucco to first floor over shopfront, slate sills. Scantle slate roof with brick chimneys over gable ends shared with flanking buildings. Slightly projecting eaves to front. Plan of 2 identical shops to front, passage between and rooms to rear. 2 storeys. Originally symmetrical 3-window west road front with first floor 4-paned horned sashes. Double shopfront with splayed central entrance between forming porch. 1 light of each shop window returns into splay and there are 3 doors, each with 3 panels and overlight. Original shop window on right with 5 lights to front, each light with flat head over 2 centres rising from small moulded caps. Left-hand shop window is simplified copy. Original entablature to one fascia over both windows with cornice supported on terminal pilasters with moulded and carved consoles. Impression of lettering of former trader can still be seen on fascia. Interior not inspected.
