Description

Two adjoining shops with living accommodation date from the early 19th century. The frontages are stuccoed, with a gabled scantle slate roof, wide eaves, and a brick chimney. The building has a double-depth plan, with shops at the front and living and service rooms at the rear. The road front has an overall width of five windows. The first floor retains original 12 and 16-pane hornless sash windows; one window is blind and painted to resemble a 12-pane sash. The shopfront on the right is unaltered from the early to mid-19th century and includes an original door, overlight, and small-paned windows. A doorway flanked by pilasters is positioned to the left of the shopfront. A moulded entablature sits above the shopfront and doorway. The wider three-window frontage on the left has a 20th-century door and projecting shop windows filling the ground-floor window openings. The interior was not inspected.
