Description
9 Churchtown is an 18th-century house located in St Agnes, Churchtown, on the west side. The front is rendered or stuccoed, while the rest is painted rubble. It has an asbestos slate roof, with a 20th-century chimney on the left gable end and a rubble stack with a brick shaft at the right-hand (party wall) end.
The house has an L-shaped plan, likely with a double depth layout that features two rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall. Behind the left side is an unaltered 18th-century service wing.
The exterior is two-storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window front with a doorway centrally located. To the right of the doorway is a canted bay window with a hipped roof. The other windows are likely in their original openings. The door is from the 20th century, and all front windows are late 19th or early 20th-century four-pane horned sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
