Description

Bank House is a house dating to the early 19th century, situated in St Agnes Churchtown. The house is constructed of dressed killas rubble walls, with brick arches over the openings, and has an asbestos slate roof, hipped at the front. A brick chimney is located on the left-hand side wall, and cast-iron gutters have an ogee section.

The plan is of a double-depth form, featuring 2 reception rooms at the front, flanking a central entrance hall which leads to a stair hall and service rooms to the rear. The exterior is two storeys over a basement, and is symmetrical with a three-window front. Flat arches with projecting keystones feature at basement level, while the ground floor has shallow segmentally-arched openings. Original features remain, including the front door and windows, the former being a 6-panel design with an overlight. The windows are hornless sashes with glazing bars, except for the ground floor window on the left, which has had its glazing bars removed, and has been replaced with a horned copy on the right. The left-hand wall also features original sash windows. The interior was not inspected.
