Description
The Porthvean Hotel is a hotel built around the 18th century or early 19th century. It features a front made of granite ashlar and has a dry Delabole slate hipped roof, with rendered brick chimneys on the side party walls. The building has a double depth plan, consisting of two rooms at the front that flank a central entrance hall, which leads to a spare hall between the rear service room. There is a deep 18th-century wing at a right angle behind the right side of the hotel. The exterior is three storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window road front, with a central doorway that includes a 20th-century door and overlight. The windows are 20th-century two-light casements, while the original openings have flat arches and projecting keystones. The interior has not been inspected.
