Description
Corner Cottage is an 18th-century house that has also been used as a shop. It features granite and killas rubble walls, with timber and lintels, and is topped by a steep asbestos slate roof. The building has a 19th-century brick chimney with pilaster shafts and a cogged cornice over the right-hand gable end, as well as a tall brick chimney over the party gable on the left. The plan is double-depth, consisting of two rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall, likely with two smaller rooms at the rear.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window road front, with the doorway located to the left of the middle, approximately central to the windows. The doorway and the window above it are in what are probably original openings, while the windows on the left and right have been reduced in width. The opening to the right of the doorway was enlarged at some point to create a shop window. The entrance features an old four-panel door with glazed top panels, and there are 20th-century 16-pane horned sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
