Description

This is an 18th-century house, now used as an office and shop, located in Yeovil. The building is constructed of local cut and squared stone with dressings of Ham stone, featuring an uneven roof covered in plain clay tiles and coped gables. A brick chimney stack is located at the south end. It is two storeys high and has four bays.

The left-hand shopfront includes a pair of slightly bowed windows with 15 panes each. These windows sit on stone stall risers and are topped by a thin fascia and cornice, curved to fit the bow. This shopfront may date to the early 19th century. The central door is a more recent addition, from the 1970s. To the right of the shopfront is a plain door with a rectangular fanlight above, set within a simple flat timber head supported by brackets. The right-hand shopfront is an early 20th-century addition and is simple in design, with windows divided into six panes and a part-glazed central door.

On the first floor, a pair of 16-pane sash windows are visible in the left-hand property, while a later pair of four-pane sash windows are on the right-hand side. An early 20th-century shaped notice or advertisement board is situated between the windows on the right. The interiors of the building were not inspected.
