Description
Nos 24 and 25 High Street are shop premises located in Yeovil, with No 24 dating from the late 18th century and No 25 from around 1820. No 24 is a two-storey building made of plain brick, featuring a stone cornice, rusticated quoins, and a plain clay tile roof behind a brick parapet. The ground floor has a modern shopfront, while the first floor has four sash windows with 16 panes each, set in simple architraves.
No 25 is a three-storey brick building with slim pilasters and band courses, which are possibly made of plaster or stone, and all are currently colourwashed. It has a Welsh slated roof between coped gables and a five-bay facade divided by the pilasters into a 1-3-1 pattern. The ground floor also features a modern shopfront, and both levels have windows with 12-pane sashes in plain openings. The facade is topped with a simple balustrade and a pediment that has incised ornamentation in a Soanian style. The interiors of both premises have been altered.
