Description

This is a farmhouse and an adjoining barn located in Madron, dating from the early 19th century. The structure is built of granite rubble with granite dressings and features slurried scantle slate roofs, complemented by brick chimneys at the gable ends of the house. It has cast-iron ogee gutters. The farmhouse has a two-room plan with a central lobby, and the barn is situated on higher ground to the left. There is a later 19th-century single-storey lean-to at the rear of the house.

The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical front with two windows, a nearly central doorway, and the barn to the left. The barn has a ground floor doorway and a first-floor winnowing doorway to the right of the middle. The house has 20th-century ledged doors and late 19th or 20th-century four-pane horned sash windows. The interiors have not been inspected. This building is part of a group of 17th to 19th-century farmhouses in an unspoiled hamlet of farmhouses and farm buildings.
