Farm Buildings West Of Carfury Farmhouse

The farm buildings west of Carfury Farmhouse consist of a barn, stables, and a wash house or swill kitchen, dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and feature slurried scantle slate roofs with gable ends. A brick chimney is located over the wash house. The buildings form an L-shaped group, with a two-storey barn on the right, single-storey stables in the middle, and a single-storey wash house projecting at right angles to the front on the left.

The two-storey barn has a nearly central doorway flanked by small windows. There is a loading doorway on the first floor to the right and another small window towards the left. The barn retains original shuttered two-light windows and ledged doors on the ground floor. The stables and wash house mostly feature door openings, including a reused 18th-century two-panel door from the farmhouse in the right-hand doorway. The interiors have not been inspected.
