Description

SANCREED SW 42 NW 5/281 Trenuggo Farmhouse

II Farmhouse. Circa early-mid C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Scantle slate half-hipped roof with brick chimneys over the side walls (C20 replacement on left). Projecting eaves at the front. Cast-iron ogee gutter. Plan: T-shaped plan plus single storey lean-to outhouse set back on the right. Original house is a double-depth plan with probably 2 equal sized rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall leading to stair hall between 2 rear service rooms. Probably slightly later is a lower 2-storey kitchen wing at right angles behind the middle of the house. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window south-east front with central doorway. C20 glazed door and probably C20 12-pane horned copies of original sashes. Original openings throughout. Similar windows to openings in other walls. Interior: Not inspected but said to be fairly unaltered.
