Description

Trenuggo Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate half-hipped roof, with brick chimneys on the side walls, one of which is a 20th-century replacement. The farmhouse has projecting eaves at the front and a cast-iron ogee gutter. The building has a T-shaped plan and includes a single-storey lean-to outhouse set back on the right. The original house has a double-depth plan, likely with two equal-sized rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall that leads to a stair hall between two rear service rooms. A slightly later addition is a lower two-storey kitchen wing that is positioned at right angles behind the middle of the house. The exterior consists of two storeys with a symmetrical three-window southeast front and a central doorway. The doorway features a 20th-century glazed door, and the windows are likely 20th-century 12-pane horned copies of the original sashes, with original openings retained throughout. Similar windows are found in the other walls. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to be fairly unaltered.
