Piggery, Shippon And Milk Stand Immediately North West Of Trelew Farmhouse

This building is a piggery, shippon, and milk stand located immediately northwest of Trelew Farmhouse. It dates from around the mid-19th century, although the rear wall is older and integrated with the adjoining house. The structure is built from roughly coursed granite rubble with granite dressings. It has an L-shaped plan that includes a range of five pigsties, likely with a swill kitchen on the right. There is a wing at right angles in front of the left-hand side, which contains a small shippon with a large milk stand built against its right-hand wall. The building is single storey and features original openings, including six doorways on the front of the piggery and a central doorway with small flanking windows on the front right-hand wall of the shippon. The interior has not been inspected.
