Description

Treweege Barton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed granite rubble with granite dressings and features a dry Delabole slate roof that slopes lower at the rear, supported by brick chimneys at the gable ends. The farmhouse has cast-iron ogee-section gutters.

The building has a double depth plan, with a wider kitchen and living room on the left and a parlour on the right, likely flanking a through passage that leads to a stair hall situated between the rear service rooms. At the rear, there is a porch with an integral wash-house, and at the right-hand end, there is a dairy from the mid-19th century, which includes a loft above.

The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window east front, with a doorway that is central to the fenestration. The door is from the 20th century, while the original 16-pane hornless sashes remain on the left, with the others being honed copies. There is also one window from a lower 19th-century extension at the far right. The interior has not been inspected but likely retains its original carpentry and joinery.
