Description
No. 6 Fore Street is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century but has undergone significant alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of rubble and features a painted asbestos slate roof. The original entrance was probably designed to lead into a passage, with a lower room to the right and an upper room on the left that includes a rear service wing. The upper room is heated by a rear lateral stack, which is now exposed and free-standing inside the house. The partition walls were removed in the 20th century. The house has two storeys and two windows, all of which are replacement 12-pane sashes with timber lintels on the ground floor. There is a 20th-century door with a timber lintel, positioned off-centre to the right, and a blind window above it. The interior has been completely altered in the 20th century.
