GV II

Pair of attached houses. Circa 1780 with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Rendered and lined out, hipped asbestos slate roof. Westward to left, with entrance to right with room front and rear to left; Charterhouse to right has 2 front rooms and central entrance to double depth plan. 3 storeys on plinth, with continuous modillion cornice. Westward has C20 addition to lower ground floor to left, with flat roof and C20 window; 6-panelled fielded door with pedimental hood to right. At first floor, two 4-pane sashes with segmental heads, 12-pane sash at 2nd floor. Charterhouse has 4-pane sash to right and left of 6-panelled door with cornice on consoles; two 4-pane sashes at first and 2nd floors, with segmental heads at ground floor right and first floor. Rear has central stack heating the pair, 4 pane sashes at first floor and 2nd floor. Interior of Charterhouse: Entrance passage with dado panelling, 2-panelled door to room to rear left, dog-leg stair to rear of passage. Rest of interior and Westward not inspected but may retain other C18 features.
