Description

28 and 29 Bodmin Hill are a pair of attached houses built around 1830, with some 20th-century alterations. The houses are made of rendered stone rubble and have an asbestos slate roof with gable ends and brick ridge stacks. They are designed with a double depth plan; No. 28, located on the left, has a side entrance, while No. 29, on the right, features a central front entrance. The principal rooms are situated at the front on both sides, with service rooms at the rear.

The houses are two storeys high with a basement. The ground floor of No. 29 has a central six-panelled door with an overlight, and both houses have canted bays that rise through two storeys on either side. The bay on the left retains reeded surrounds to its windows and features a 20-pane sash window with four-pane sidelights on both the ground and first floors, while the bay on the right has 20th-century replacement sashes. Each bay has a cellar door at its base and deep eaves supported by brackets. The left side of the building is constructed from slatestone rubble with granite quoins, and there is a blocked doorway with a timber lintel on the ground floor to the right, alongside a four-panelled door to the left. The attic is rendered and weatherboarded, featuring a three-light 20th-century window. The interior has not been inspected.
