Description
This barn, located approximately 4 metres north of Tresaddern Farmhouse, is likely from the early 18th century. It is constructed of large uncoursed rubble that has been slobbered and painted white, with a corrugated sheet roof that probably replaced the original thatch. The barn is a long, narrow rectangular structure positioned at right angles to the farmhouse and is single storey.
On the south side, there is a stable door to the left of the centre, a window and door near the rear end where a modern link is attached, a small window to the right of the centre, another small window to the right of that with a lintel featuring roll-moulding (likely reused), a loading door above, and a blocked doorway near the right-hand corner. The gable wall also has a stable door. Inside, the roof trusses have been renewed. The barn forms a group with Tresaddern Farmhouse and suggests the appearance of that house before 19th-century improvements.
