Description

ST ERTH SW 5435-5535 13/211 Barn immediately west of north end - of Trelissick Farmhouse

GV II Barn with waggon shed and adjoining porte cochere and integral stable. Circa early C19 extended circa mid C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings and brick arches. Hipped grouted scantle slate roof. Plan: 1:3:1-bay barn with central cartshed and flanking stables with loft over. Extra bay added circa mid C19 to create porte cochere entrance to farmyard. Right of the porte cochere is a stable with its doorway and ventilator window within the carriageway. Flight of granite steps and later lean-to at rear. Exterior: 2-storeys. Symmetrical 1:3:1 bay south front with central bays broken forward plus later porte cochere on right. Round brick arched doorways to central bays and the porte cochere; shallow arches to the other openings. Left and right- hand bays of original barn have doorways to ground floor and loading doorways over (rear doorways opposite). Some old ledged doors and window shutters. Interior: Not inspected.
